The nearest beach is about 600 m (approximately a 10 minute walk, or 3 minutes by car) There is parking next to the beach and the Triana beach bar serves good food. There is an ample supply of sun beds for hire. There are several other restaurants situated all along the beach. Cabo pino beach is one of the most popular and and can be easily reached by car.
For watersports go to Funny Beach, which you can see from the motorway as you drive towards Marbella.
Most of the restaurants are very child friendly and the following are some restaurants we would recommend. It is always a good idea to book in advance, especially in the high season. You can book as late as on the day and will usually get a better seat.
Triana (Junction Las Chapas - from our apartment just follow road down to the beach - as you drive or walk along you will see several entrances into restaurants)
Carib Playa, 29600 Marbella East
Tel: 34 952 83 3933
Da Bruno (junction Cabopino)
Cabopino, 29600 Marbella
Tel: 00 (34) 952 903 318
Da Bruno is part of a chain and people travel from miles around to eat here. For those with children it is a good idea to sit outside and request to be near the play area where there is a slide and some swings. It offers an extensive menu including pasta, pizza, meat, fish and vegetarian. Take-away is available.
Papillion (exit Elviria on the way to Marbella,
go past the Don Carlos and straight through the next roundabout. Take the second turn on the left over the bridge and the restaurant is on the right hand side)
Tel: 00(34) 952 834113
The menu is not as extensive as Da Bruno. It has a lovely setting right on the beach with a large grassed area between the restaurant and beach making it very suitable for children. Although I don't eat fish I would recommend the paella, which can be cooked to order, and we had half chicken and half fish.
Cristina (exit Elviria or follow the road along the beach where you will see several restaurants)
29600 Marbella East
Tel: 00 (34) 952 83 2725
This restaurant is also on the beach. Food is very good, however it is fairly upmarket and not as child friendly as the other two.
The Square is a 2 minute walk down some steps where you will find where you will find The Village Inn restaurant, shop, hairdresser and internet cafe. There is live music and dancing at the restaurant on Tuesdays and Saturdays during the summer so book in advance. The food is good and the owner will make you up a lovely take-away of your choice. You can have a choice of meats, fish, vegetarian, salad, potatoes, rice and accompaniments.
The other restaurant which is in walking distance is El Rancho (you pass it on your way to the apartment) This also offers a good menu and is great for steaks.
